How the StoryWorks Foundation process works
Step 1: Discovery Call
Before we begin, we’ll have a friendly discovery chat to explore the purpose of your story and outline the shaping themes. You'll also receive helpful hints and tips to prepare for your interview, and be encouraged to gather any relevant records, notes, or images that may support your story.
Step 2: The Primary Interview
We’ll meet either online or in person (subject to travel distance) for a relaxed and engaging conversation. I’ll ask thoughtful, guided questions designed to draw out key memories, moments, and personal insights. This primary interview typically lasts up to two hours and may be recorded (with your permission) to ensure no detail is missed.
Step 3: Story Drafting
Following your interview, I’ll carefully craft a professionally written draft of your story—up to 1,500 words—capturing your unique journey with warmth, care, and accuracy.
Step 4: The Review Meeting
We’ll meet again to review your draft together. This is your chance to hear your story told back to you, make additions, remove sections, and refine the details to ensure it feels exactly right.
Step 5: Final Story Delivery
Once you’re happy with your final version, your story will be delivered as a digital file (Word & PDF formats). Select images can be included to complement your story. If you wish, we can also provide quotes for professionally printed copies.
